When a photo helps
A photo can help with a prepared meal when you do not have a package or full recipe. Make visible ingredients easy to see, then review the estimated portion.
A photo cannot show every hidden ingredient, cooking oil or exact portion weight. Review the result; use a label or weighed amounts when precision matters.
When you have a barcode
Use barcode lookup for a packaged product with a readable barcode. Compare the returned product and nutrition with the package in your hand.
Check whether the label and selected amount refer to one serving, the whole package or a weight such as 100 g. A matching barcode does not remove the need to check the portion.
When you know the amounts
Search for a familiar food or enter a meal manually when you have a recipe, label or weighed amount. Choose the amount you actually ate instead of assuming the default portion.
Food search, barcode lookup and manual logging stay free. You can keep your diary without using an AI scan.
